TIRUPATHI.. AN OVERVIEW
Tirupati is a major pilgrimage and cultural city in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is the largest urban agglomeration in the Rayalaseema region.
It is located at the foothills of the Eastern Ghats at a distance of 150 kilometres (93 mi) from Chennai, 250 kilometres (160 mi) from Bengaluru, 349 kilometres (217 mi) from Vijayawada and 550 kilometres (340 mi) from Hyderabad.
It is one of the richest pilgrimage cities of any religious faith in the world.
THE STRETCH TO BE DESIGNED
The stretch to be designed starts from the Tirupathi railway station to the MS subbulakshi statue for nearly 1.1kms.
INFERENCE
- Design a secluded Parking space for the 4 wheelers
- Define areas for the Road hawkers to exhibit & sell their their products.
- Design a proper designed Footpath for the movement of pedestrians
- Visually appealing median designs
- Emphasising the nodes – MS Subbalakshmi statue, Ambedkar statue & the Gandhi statue
- No proper space allocated for the road hawkers.
- As Tirupathi is very hot during summers , seating spaces & rain shelters have to provided wherever need be.

- Emphasising & accentuating the nodes the nodes

- Tree courts
- Rain shelters
- Seating areas
- Foot path
- Cross overs( Zebra crossings)
- Tree gratings
- Medians
- Planting on either side of the roads
LANDSCAPE PLAN
PARKING
- This space is adjacent to the MS Subbalakshmi statue junction.
- A stop over place before climbing the hills.
- Ample car parking space for 100 cars.
- A park with amenities such as children’s play, walkways.
- Ornamental features like dwarf walls, stone pillars are also used.
- An urban plaza with treepits, seating & rain shelters are also designed next to the parking and the park.
